Julia Averaged 13 kills per match at Furman Invitational... named OhioRealEstateListing.Com Athlete of the Week for the week of Aug. 30... all-tournament team selection at Michigan State... career-high 18 kills against St. John's... team-high 12 kills in loss to Michigan State... started junior campaign with a team-high 15 kills with three blocks and three digs in season-opening victory over Virginia Tech. New Wave Alumna Molly Matesich named to Marcia French All-Tournament Team
John Carroll Volleyball Squad Places Sixth At Marcia French Tournament (Sept. 11, 2004) John Carroll opened play on Friday at the Baldwin-Wallace Marcia French Tournament with a victory over crosstown rival Case Reserve. That would be the Blue Streaks' only highlight on the weekend, as they went 1-3 and finished in sixth place in the two-day event held in Berea, Ohio. JCU swept Case (30-22, 30-26, 30-22) but then, in turn, was swept by Kalamazoo (30-22, 30-21, 30-22) to conclude Friday's competition. After wrapping up pool play with a four-game loss to conference foe Capital (30-21, 30-24, 26-30, 30-25), John Carroll was swept in the fifth-place match by Hope (30-28, 30-19, 30-22). Junior Molly Matesich was named to the Marcia French All-Tournament Team. The team's lone representative had 55 digs and a team-high four aces in the tournament.
New Wave alumna Emily Manser is now Soaring with the BGSU Falcons
New Wave alumna Emily Manser has gone on to excel with Bowling Green State University Falcons, where she now has a 4.00 GPA through her first two seasons. Read more at the BGSU website!
Sarah Matesich signs with Wittenberg!
Congratulations to Sarah Matesich, of New Wave 18 Gold, who will play for nationally ranked Wittenberg University this fall. Sarah will join former New Wave alum and All-American Monica McDonald on the 2005 Tiger squad. Sarah, daughter of Debbie and Jim Matesich, is a graduate of Newark Catholic HS.

12 Gold Wins 1st Gold at Maumee!
New Wave 12 Gold team took first in Gold at Maumee on Sunday, May 9th. They went 3-0 in pool play and 2-0 in the play-offs, only losing one game. They played with heart, hustle, and enthusiasm, and as coaches we are very proud of them. — Pam Firich, Coach
